Chapter 4 - The Hidden Target
While Chloe sat by her mother's bedside, Alexander stood in the hospital hallway, dialing a secure number.
"The Sinclair heiress is alive, and her mother is in room 402," Alexander whispered into his phone.
For twenty years, the Sinclair family had been violently hunting down Chloe's mother to prevent her from claiming the throne.
Chloe’s mother had faked her own death and lived in extreme poverty just to keep her daughter safe from assassins.
Now, by using her real name at this high-profile hospital, the mother had accidentally tripped an alarm on the dark web.
Alexander’s head of security rushed down the hallway, looking completely out of breath.
"Boss, three armed mercenaries just entered the hospital lobby," the guard reported urgently.
Alexander’s dark eyes narrowed into dangerous, lethal slits.
